Small Town. Big Adventure.
The Whitetails & Wildlife Museum is the result of one man’s lifelong passion for the outdoors — Max Rickerson, a Southeast Kansas native whose love for the outdoors led to one of the most extensive taxidermy collections in North America.
From predators and waterfowl to mammals and one of the largest collections of trophy Whitetail Deer in the world, the museum offers something for everyone.
What started as a personal pursuit has grown into a public space that inspires, educates, and celebrates both Kansas heritage and global wildlife. With lifelike mounts, interactive touchscreens, and detailed habitat displays, Max’s legacy continues to connect people to the wonder of the animal world.
More than a museum, this is a tribute to a life spent outdoors — and an invitation for you to explore it.
